Senior Marketing Executive – 12-month maternity cover

We're looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated marketer to work within the megabus marketing team. Based at the company's headquarters in Glasgow, you'll report to the Marketing and Communications Manager. Working within a fast paced and exciting department, the ideal candidate will be positive, organised, customer focused and with a minimum of two years' experience in a marketing role.

Core tasks will include supporting with the implementation of the marketing plan to help support customer retention and organic passenger growth as well as shaping the company's public image and ensuring effective communication with our audience. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business and external agencies to deliver the commercial goals of the business.

What you will be doing…

Social media planning and goal setting

• Development of brand awareness and brand perception

• Website marketing content management

• Email marketing

• SEO and generation of inbound traffic

• Project managing and executing marketing campaigns

• Adopt the role of brand champion for megabus tone of voice

• Support the Marketing Manager with out of home advertising recommendations and best practices

• Leading on brand tracking and reporting on campaign effectiveness through reporting

• Day-to-day management of marketing agencies

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Develop relevant content topics to reach megabus target customers

• Brief designer for campaigns and BAU content

• Promote content through paid marketing channels such as paid social, display and PPC Ad-hoc responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Marketing Manager in strategy and marketing plan creation

• Supporting the Marketing Manager with marketing tech projects

• Supporting with online brand reputation

• Affiliates – managing account, and creating content for use

• Working with external websites to promote megabus

• Onsite messaging campaign creation and management of agency

• Responsible for working within allocated marketing budgets

We’d love to meet someone with…

• Minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working in a Marketing environment, proven results in developing long term strategies. Must have strong business flair.

• An energetic, self-starter who is passionate about the role and working for megabus.

• Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels, constructing logical, credible, and winning arguments that will persuade decision makers (internal and external).

• Ability to look at the bigger picture as well as get into the micro data.

• Problem solver who uses initiative to work to tight deadlines with a “can do” attitude.

• Result orientated - Must have a passionate desire to overachieve and understand and keep pace with the dynamics of the industry.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and structure work schedules.

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where each day is different, and you may have to implement change at short notice.

• Reasonable knowledge of UK Geography.

Salary £27 000 - £30,000. Working hours are 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. On a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
